About Us
Uni-Cord Industriale (PTY) LTD started off as a small-scale sisal twines and ropes manufacturer. With over 35 years in the industry Uni-Cord Industriale has grown from strength to strength and boasts its experience with only the finest quality products. In 2005 Uni-Cord Industriale was acquired by Highland Estates Limited and continued its operations in South Africa under the name Uni-Cord Industriale (PTY) LTD.
Being part of Highland Estates Limited gives Uni-Cord access to unprecedented quality of sisal fibres, and gives the company the security of a guaranteed supply of raw materials.
Raw Material Division
We mainly grow and process our own sisal fibre in the coastal region of Tanzania, East Africa under our sister company, where we own sisal estates under our sister company, Highland Estates Limited.
Production Division
Our factory in Springfield Park has been our home for the past 26 years with a portfolio comprising of quality sisal ropes and twines. Uni-cord has certainly grown to become one of the leading companies in the sisal industry.
Conservation
With an ever growing concern on the environment, Uni-Cord aims at conservation. As part of our effort in this regard, no pesticides or fertilizers are used on our plantations in Tanzania as sisal is a very resistant plant. The sisal fibres are dried after production using solar energy and industrial heating is minimized during production. Sisal fibres are also natural and biodegradable so there are no long term harms to the environment from the products itself.
